Board & Train Programs
Our board & train programs are an excellent option for clients that don't have the time to devote to training their dog each and every day! Life gets busy, but dogs still need training! Let us "take the lead" and train your dog for you.
Puppy Head Start - $2,000
***For puppies under five months of age***
Our Puppy Head Start Program is a three-week on leash only program that covers all on-leash, basic commands and general manners... And don't forget the confidence-building! We also spend a great deal of time proofing these behaviors around distractions (and in new environments) to ensure that your puppy will listen to you in a variety of settings! If you would like off leash training for your puppy, this course can be followed up by our four week abbreviated off leash program ($2,400).

How Does it Work?
Your puppy will stay with us for three weeks and begin learning commands such as sit, down, heel, come, stay, and place. Not only will your puppy be getting a head start on basic, on-leash obedience commands, he or she will also be learning "good manners" like no jumping and no biting. Every training session is geared towards ensuring your puppy's success, and we place a heavy emphasis on making training fun while also focusing on confidence-building exercises to ensure that your puppy can tackle whatever obstacles come his or her way!
Upon completion of the training program (on pick-up day), you will attend a 1-2 hour "training dismissal." In this dismissal, we will show you what your puppy learned and how to apply the training to your every day life. We'll also have you work with your puppy to ensure you feel comfortable using and applying the training. Once the training dismissal is complete, you'll take your puppy home to practice everything that you learned in the training dismissal. After several weeks of practice, you'll be ready to come back for a free, follow-up class so that we can check in with you and make sure everything is going well!

What Does it Include?
Our Puppy Head Start Program includes the following on-leash commands: Sit, Down, Sit/Stay, Down/Stay, Heel, Come, Place, and Off. In addition, this program includes three off-site training field-trips, bi-weekly progress updates, a weekly wellness update, an exit bath and nail trim, and unlimited phone & email support post-training. A training collar is also provided with this course.

What Does My Puppy Need for this Program?
We ask that you provide the food for your puppy's stay to prevent any stomach upset. We will also need proof of your puppy's up-to-date vaccinations. We require Rabies, Bordetella, and at least three sets of DHPP vaccines before your puppy can board with us.

Adult Board & Train - $3,500
***For puppies/dogs over four months of age***
Our Advanced Program is what we are known for, and it has been our most popular program since we designed it over six years ago! It is a six-week program that covers all on-leash and off-leash obedience as well as general manners. It's a great option for owners wanting full off leash control, both indoors and outdoors and/or for dogs that are in need of behavior modification for issues like reactivity and aggression. You can expect a highly responsive, focused, and well-mannered companion upon completion of this program!

How Does it Work?
Your puppy/dog will stay with us for six weeks and will learn both on-leash and off-leash commands like sit, down, heel, come, place, and stay as well as more advanced manners like no jumping, proper greetings, and how to remain calm for petting. While this is an advanced program that will really bring out the best in your dog, we still take great care to ensure that your dog is able to learn at his or her own pace and that he or she is having fun in the process!
Upon completion of the training program (on pick-up day), you will attend a 2-3 hour "training dismissal." In this dismissal, we will show you what your dog learned and how to apply the training to your every day life. We'll also have you work with your dog to ensure you feel comfortable using and applying the training. Once the training dismissal is complete, you'll take your dog home to practice everything that you learned in the training dismissal. On pick-up day, we'll show you how to apply your dog's training. After practicing for a week or two, you'll feel like you trained your dog yourself!

-
What if I don't want to leave my dog? Do you offer private or group classes? We currently only offer board & train programs as we have found the results of our board & train programs to be far superior to those of group or private classes. While is is fairly easy to become a good dog handler, it is a much more difficult and lengthy task to become a good dog trainer. In fact, all of our trainers are certified master trainers and attended dog training school full-time (40 hours per week or more) for a minimum of six months to learn how to train dogs... That's 960 hours of dog training... Not to mention the thousands of hours of experience they have gained since. While all of our trainers are extremely skilled teachers, it is simply impossible to condense 960 hours of schooling into a handful of hour-long, private lessons and expect the same results. When you hire a mechanic to fix your car, you don't pay the pay mechanic to teach you how to fix your car... You simply pay the mechanic to fix the problem because that's what his (or her) job is, and he (or she) can do a better job in a shorter period of time. Dog training is no different. Having a dog trainer train your dog will yield the best results because a dog trainer is the most qualified person for the job. We pride ourselves in quality over quantity, and our goal is to provide the best possible service and results to you as an owner. Therefore, we are only comfortable offering options that yield high-quality results.
-
Do you allow visits? We do not currently allow visitation. It can be stressful for the dogs to see their owners and then have to watch them leave again. We feel that this is a bit unfair to the dogs, and we want to ensure that their stay with us is as happy and as relaxed as it can possibly be. We do, however, send updates 3x per week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will receive pictures and/or videos of your dog in training so you can see what he or she is up to! Wednesdays is our "weight-day," so we will weigh your dog and let you know what he/she weighs each Wednesday. In the event that he/she is losing or gaining weight and doesn't need to be, we will adjust his/her food accordingly (with your permission).
-
Will my dog forget me?No way! We've never had a dog forget their owner... Your dog will be beyond thrilled to see you on pick-up day!
-
Where will my dog be staying?Your dog will be staying at Sequoyah's Wag-N-Tail Lodge, which is located at our facility. Your dog will have access to water 24/7 and will remain indoors in his or her room, with the exception of monitored potty breaks and training sessions. The kennels are climate-controlled to ensure your dog's comfort.
-
Does the payment plan have to be completed before my dog can begin training? No, we just require the first payment in order for training to begin.
